This beautiful jewelry box presents on its lid, inside an oval cartouche, between two musician lovers, a scene inspired by David Teniers compositions. In a frame of garlands of leaves and flowers, on the front of an inn, are two characters sitting with a mug in hand, one of them is smoking one of these long clay pipes, they are listening to a piper accompanied by two children, behind them, the landlady is leaning against a kind of counter. The perimeter is decorated with flowery garlands. The interior of the compartmentalized box is lined with a mauve velvet in perfect condition, the back of the lid is in vermeil. It is a foreign work of high quality which is very finely chiseled.
