France, 19th century, Napoleon III period, lovely tortoise shell fly box engraved and incised with silver or pewter, formerly gilded. The lid features four flies and a lyre surrounded by palms. The rim of the body is also decorated with four flies and geometric motifs.
Good condition, except for a patchy gilding.
