Makeup box, Louis XVI period.
It is in tortoiseshell and gold.
The dark cover of a period mirror is decorated with gold pastilles.
It opens with gold hinges onto two compartments.
One to put the makeup, the other to hold your little brush, which is present.
It bears very legible hallmarks, for Paris 1777 -1778, and the master Parisian goldsmith Jean Henri Clément who was received in 1773.
Very good condition, for this small box which measures 6 cm x 4.2 cm by 2.5 cm in height.
It houses a small handwritten document notifying its belonging to Madame d'Arnault de Moussy under the court of Louis XVI.....
