This late 19th-century cabinet is probably Chinese or Indochinese. The sumptuous mother-of-pearl inlays are found on all surfaces, with floral and character decorations. It opens to form a dressing table with six drawers.
Condition: some bending of the metal, clearly visible in the photos, a few small chips of mother-of-pearl, and some movement of the wood. We do not have the drawer key. Note that one of the front drawers needs to be glued back in place. The mirror is beveled but unfortunately stained. One of the side hinges needs tightening. All the same, this cabinet is a magnificent object.
We've tried to take photos of all the defects, so please describe them in detail.
Photos are an integral part of the description.
