Attractive desk thermometer in mahogany and gilt bronze. This violin-shaped thermometer has a folding base that allows it to be placed on a desk or hung as a miniature. It retains its mercury tube, with measurements in degrees centigrade engraved on a brass plate. Beautiful Louis XVI-style work in the Russian taste, late 19th century or circa 1900.

A fine decorative object, both useful and one of those little details that make for an authentic atmosphere, in very good condition.
