A rare pair of bronze amphora vases with a gilded patina, mounted on tripod bases of red griotte marble.

Each vase features rich relief ornamentation of scenes inspired by antiquity: mythological figures, symbolic attributes, columns, garlands, and stylized trees, executed with remarkable finesse. The tripod bases are composed of winged lion figures with human heads, typical of the Neoclassical repertoire, giving the ensemble a strong sculptural presence.

The vases bear the signature of the sculptor F. Levillain, as well as the seal of the prestigious foundry F. Barbedienne, Paris, a guarantor of the excellence of 19th-century French art casting.

This work perfectly illustrates the 19th-century taste for Antiquity and works inspired by Greece and Rome, in a luxurious and meticulous decorative interpretation.

Total height: 30 cm

A high-quality collector's item, ideal for enhancing a refined interior or a decorative art collection.
