- This pair of vases takes up the formal characteristics of the Medici vases; a bell shape with a curved rim adorned here with a frieze of lanceolate leaves, a plain smooth body, a body adorned with a frieze of large acanthus leaves curving outwards with detail, the pedestal is adorned (from bottom to top) with a torus of laurel leaves on its circular base, then fluting on the curved part and finally a ring topped by an upside-down neck at the node.

- The body of each vase is flanked by two delicately crafted handles; initiated by satyr heads, they are formed by two opposing foliage bases that unfurl on either side.

- The carved details demonstrate the finest chasing and attention to detail. The vases rest on a square-section base in Valence yellow marble, interspersed with patinated bronze to harmonize with the vases.
