SEMENTZEFF (Michel), Russian-born painter born February 16, 1933 in Boulogne-Billancourt (92), died in 2019. He was admitted at the age of fifteen to the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Modernes in Paris. His style, combining rich tones, dynamic impastos and pure colors, produced works that quickly won over art lovers. His talent enabled him to exhibit at the most important Parisian art fairs (Automne, Artistes Français, etc.) and in renowned galleries in the capital, as well as in the provinces and abroad, in the United States, Canada and Switzerland.
This superb work, an oil on canvas from the 1970s/1980s depicting a country landscape, titled "Refuge champêtre", reflects his much-loved style.
