Mesopotamia, probably Bronze Age, circa 3000 to 1500 B.C., very attractive and unusual bronze rhythmon with a crusty patina, cylindrical in shape and flaring towards the top. The rhython is decorated with two deities in relief on both sides, wearing horned headdresses and with a posture similar to that of statues of the Egyptian god Osiris. The body is decorated with superimposed geometric designs in slight relief.
