Japan, last third of the 19th century, Meiji era, very nice pair of silver wire cloisonné vases with floral design on a bluish-black ground. This is a true pair, with a common base and a few minor differences in the flower varieties. Fineness and beauty rendered by the quality of this silver wire cloisonné technique.
Good condition apart from slight wear and a small chip on the back of one, but this has no effect on aesthetics as it is not part of the floral design (visible on the last photograph, but not so obvious in reality).
Height 15.5 cm.
