GUÉGUÉNIAT (Gérard), Breton painter and sculptor born 1934, died 2019 (Ec. Fr.). A former art teacher in Quimper, he first exhibited in Camaret at the Morvan gallery. He went on to make a name for himself abroad, exhibiting his work in Japan, the United States and Great Britain. For many years, he settled in Kersiguénou (Finistère). Refusing to be associated with any particular artistic movement, Gérard Guéguéniat was equally at home in figurative representations and abstract art. This lovely painting, an oil on canvas from the 1960s-1970s, featuring an abstract composition, reflects his art.
