This covered incense burner from mid-19th century Japan is made of copper and cloisonné enamel. The neck is removable.
The globular body rests on a copper base and is adorned with two curved handles, decorated with Japanese symbols: peony, plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, great tits, and the chiseled gilt copper lid features a coiled dragon.
Regarding its condition, note that the lid is difficult to close properly. Also note a dent in the handles.
