Burma, 19th century, very attractive old Mandalay Buddha in carved and gilded wood on a black lacquer background. He is seated in the position of "witnessing the earth" (Bhûmisparsha-Mudrà). Parts of his body and clothing are highlighted with a fine coral-red fillet on a gold background, emphasizing the beauty of the details. Beautiful patina.
Height 15.8 cm. The scale indicator on the last photograph is a small model of a lighter from a well-known brand.
Good condition except for slight wear to the gilding.
