Rare Malagan dance mask collected on the Tabar Islands in Papua New Guinea. This mask called "Tatanua" represents the soul that a person has and is used during commemoration ceremonies. These relatively light wooden masks are worn during ritual dances. This one was notably used during a large ceremony organized in February 2020 on the island of Tatau.
