Rare dance mask collected on the Tabar Islands in Papua New Guinea. This mask, made from bark, plant fibers, recycled sacking, pigments and paint, is worn during ceremonial dances linked to the "Malagan" rite. It was notably used in a large ceremony organized in February 2020 on the island of Tatau. Sold with a presentation base. 98 x 30 x 37 cm / €690 including base and shipping.
