Lama Tsongkhapa known as Je Rinpoche (1357-1419), founder of the Gelug ("Yellow Hat") order, incarnation of Avalokiteshvara and retroactively the first Dalai Lama.
Copper alloy, Tibet circa 1900 or earlier.

These pieces were sold in his first boutique (Avenue de la Régence in Brussels) in his early days, before his move to the Sablon and then Avenue Molière), in the late 60s.
