Very rare pair of reliquary figures from the Massango people of Gabon. Made of copper-plated wood, the objects measure 37cms high excluding the base, with a very attractive deep patina of age. These are antique objects with no pedigree or certified traceability, but their long storage makes it possible to estimate their origin with some certainty, dating from the middle of the twentieth century. It is worth noting that one of the damaged sculptures has a replacement metal jamb, a modern or semi-modern native work that enhances the aesthetics of this statue, a very interesting repair.
