Magnificent example of an ancient LOBI slingshot from Burkina Faso, carved to represent a standing figure with the V of the slingshot serving as his legs. These slings were carried by young boys to hunt birds and bats in the forest. The carvings on these everyday objects are talismanic and often represent a spirit destined to protect the hunter and ensure a successful hunt! Very nice shiny brown patina ! Sold socled.
