Very rare Kota Sangu reliquary basket, from Gabon. the object measures approximately 37cm high, it is made of wood, copper or brass, basketry, vegetable fibers, textiles, composite materials and magic charges or "bilongo". it is a truly old object perfectly executed in the style specific to the ethnic group it represents, the patina of use and time is quite remarkable and without artifice, no suspicious smell (wood fires or fumigation) emerges from this ancient sculpture. Note native or later repairs to the basketwork. It is a quite remarkable rare object of this quality.
