Very old Baoulé sculpture from the first half of the 20th century, a 63 cm statue in hard wood very characteristic of the ethnic group covered with a thick crusty patina, the power of the work embodies the importance of this "genius" beneficial or divinity half man half monkey. This object was part of the collection of Mr p.Fougerouse (famous rally-Raid car driver, in particular the DAKAR between the years 1970 to 1985) made up of objects acquired during these numerous journeys across the African continent, a highly recognized collection of high quality.
It should be noted that there are accidents with gaps in the sculpture, but the aesthetic integrity of which remains nonetheless well preserved. A very rare precious item of this quality.
