Rare polychrome mask presenting a face with eyes inscribed in large and deep convex orbital cavities. The mouth is formed of a raised circle. The lower face ends with a prominent chin. the whole is decorated with red and white polychrome lines forming angles.
This type of mask was used during the rites of passage through puberty called "Eluba ya butende". This must be a representation of the monkey type (Amba).
Nice patina of use on the inside of the mask.
