Embossed silver betel box, Burma, late 19th or early 20th century.
The contours are chased and decorated with animal cartouches, and the base and top are slightly flared.
The lid, which descends almost to the base, is decorated in repoussé, perhaps in the style of a mandala, with stupas in a style reminiscent of the loops on certain Buddha head sculptures.
The slightly convex base features a bird.
