    Paris, H. Floury, (1913), oblong in-8, illustrated blue publisher's cloth, with endpapers decorated with a "wallpaper" motif of the Gallic rooster. Title and author printed in gilt, 33 pages. This patriotic text, written at a time when Alsace was German, has a particular sensibility. The tone, at once nostalgic and patriotic, highlights the shortcomings of the occupying power, while idealizing a distant but cherished France. Although the language is dated today, it remains a historical testimony. The drawings, simple, colorful, tender and lively, have stood the test of time without losing their charm. A fine copy in very good condition, with only a few signs of use.
