Obverse: Aged bust of Victoria facing left, crowned and veiled; below the shoulder monogrammed T.B. VICTORIA ANNVM REGNI SEXAGESIMVM FELICITER CLAVDIT XX IVN and date.
Thomas Brock, 1847-1922
British sculptor who created the Victoria Memorial, the statue of Queen Victoria in Cape Town and the equestrian statue of Prince Edward in Leeds. He created these medals and contemporary coins in response to the unpopularity of the Golden Jubilee, and they began to be issued in 1893.
