A rare secretary trunk designed by the American company Innovation in the 1900s at its French factory in Vincennes. It was in this very factory that a fire broke out in 1931, prompting the company to sell off a large part of its stock.
The outer structure is made from noble materials: wood, leather and brass corner reinforcements.
This trunk, domed on top, is transported vertically by means of a leather handle and four wheels located underneath.
It opens and closes with safe-style brass locks borrowed from luggage maker Ermett.
The all-mahogany interior features a fold-down shelf on brass hinges and two doors with lens knobs, giving access to two independent storage areas.
The right-hand side features two fixed shelves, for a total of three compartments.
For lovers of unusual objects and furniture, this trunk will appeal for its originality, rarity and secretarial function.
