    Pair of binoculars in mother-of-pearl and brass monogrammed "MS" and bee hallmark, Prosper Bunoust, 45 Palais Royal Paris.
    Has a leather case with purple fabric interior with gold lettering inscriptions of Maison Gaggini, Paris.
    Lenses in good condition. Note a small chip on the mother-of-pearl. Case in excellent condition.
    Napoleon III period, late 19th century.

    This pair of binoculars bears the hallmark of the imperial bee of Napoleon III, which means that this house was recognized by the imperial court. On the mother-of-pearl rim, the inscription "45 Palais Royal, Prosper Bunoust", corresponds to the address of his Parisian workshop. The inscription "Jumelle Duchesse" allows us to know the name of this model.
