Two beautiful pieces of curiosity, these half coconuts carved under the Restoration in the colonies at the beginning of the 19th century, made by convicts and sailors (known as "pontoon work"), these little jewels of ingenuity in the decoration, mixed with skill and precision in the very fine carving, with the varied imaginative representations typical of these little masterpieces from faraway seas, a testament to the resilience of these pieces in the face of adversity, which does not cloud but rather develops artistic genius.
bronze and the other with a frieze. I particularly like the flowery woven basket, a remnant of the Louis XVI style.
