We Mayor & Municipal Officers, certify that "M Jean Bolivaud, Citizen of this city
native of "Pont de Veyle", Department d aged d years, height d hair eyebrows forehead eyes nose mouth chins declared to us to want to go to "Pont de Veyle, Chief place of the District court of Châtillon Department of L'ain for family business."
Consequently, we ask Messrs. the Commanders of the National Guards & of the National Gendarmerie, to "let him" pass freely without suffering that he be given any impediment, & to help him" in need of their help & assistance; in witness whereof we have delivered the present, which we had countersigned by the Clerk. In Evreux in the Common House, on "Ten January" one thousand seven hundred and eighty-two".
