Silver ball bouquet holder with filigree floral decoration.
The entirely and finely filigree cornet is richly decorated with delicately applied flowers surrounded by chains and tassels.
The knob on the handle screws open to release 3 spring-loaded feet to hold the bouquet upright and preserve it overnight.

Please note that once released, the tripod legs move apart, and the fasteners are certainly loosened.

Also noteworthy is the absence of the needle that secures the bouquet in the cornet (the chain is nevertheless present, just missing the needle at its end).
The bouquet holder is silver but not hallmarked (acid-tested), and is in good overall condition.

It is a feminine accessory used as a fashion ornament in the 19th century. Queen Victoria helped popularize it. It reached the height of its popularity between the 1830s and 1880s.
It is a highly collectible display item today.
