Dated 1856, in perfect condition, never used, complete pages, no traces of use. Made of blond tortoiseshell worked in Boulle marquetry, known as, "Inlaid à la Reine" (stars).
The mechanical pencil, also of remarkable quality, is made of chiseled pomponne. Note also that the edge of the leaf is gilded with fine gold, and the interior of the notebook in silk moire.
