This is a fairly rare serving plate or possibly the under-plate for a tureen. It was produced during the Georgian period at the factory of Stephen Folch (1819-1829) in Stoke-on-Trent, England.
The decoration is in the Chinoiserie style which was very popular at this time. The decoration is possibly printed and then painted by hand with "famille rose" colours. It is in good, used condition, no chips or hairlines or crazing. Any defects that can be seen in the photos arose during manufacture or is wear from use.
The base is flat and unglazed, yet has a colour washed over it and carries the expected mark with "Genuine Folch’s Stone China" written underneath. The dimensions are approximately: 27.5 cms x 21 cm x 2.5 cms (h) ; it weighs 609 g.
